Nigeria’s music entertainment is competitive but this lady is determined to stay on top. Her career in music kicked off soon after winning a music competition show. Chidinma Ekile known by her first name or as Ms. Kedike from her hit single “Kedike” is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, recording artist and performer. Chidinma first came in the musical limelight when she participated in, and won the third season of MTN Project fame West Africa singing competition in 2010. After winning the competition, Chidinma did not waste any time and immediately embarked on releasing single after single and an album all in the same year. She released her first single “Jankoliko” featuring Sound Sultan in June of 2011. This was followed by the release of “Kedike” in October of the same year. The above mentioned singles were from her debut album titled “Chidinma” which was released in the last quarter of 2011. Her single “Kedike” became an instant hit internationally. The term “Kedike” is a word that was coined to mean “heartbeat”. In just a short time after kicking off her music career, Chidinma has done pretty well for a new artist. She won the Best Female West African Act category at the 2012 Kora Awards, including receiving other nominations and winning awards thereafter.

Chidinma is particularly influenced by Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Alicia Keys, whitney Houston, Maraiah Carey, Fela Kuti, Omawumi, Onyeka Onwemu, Lagbaja and Darey Art Alade.

Chidinma followed her dreams of being part of MTN Project Fame West Africa and went for the auditions where she was one of the lucky 18 contestants picked from over 8000 participants. She went on to win the third season of MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2010. During her stay at the competition, she received voice and choreography coaching among other training.

Her fan base grew after she was unfortunately accused of being involved in a sex tape scandal.
