COUNTRY OF ORIGIN : KENYA

For Esther music has always been a part of my family. She fondly remembers her father playing the harmonica as they sang hymns every night before bed. In elementary school she started out on the piano, then the alto flute which she played in the school band. Esther then joined the school choir, and well it was at this point that singing took precedence over instruments.
At the age,of 15, she did music as a major in high school and while at campus she sang in different choirs. During her final year she was awarded the leading Soprano of the year, it was very prestigious but she couldn't find her perfect instrument.
Esther’s mother bought her a violin as a graduation gift, and at first she didn't know what to do with it. After a year, she enrolled at the Kenya Conservatoire of music, where she has learnt different styles of music that she has grown to appreciate and understand in detail. She is classically trained, but over the years I've learnt to appreciate other styles of music. When she isn’t playing the violin or singing, Esther teaches music at different schools.
