In 2007 she decided to take a step and fully launch her music career, still a student at the time. Waje got her first major spotlight after featuring in PSQUARE’s hit single ‘Do Me’ a massive hit track across Africa and some parts of Europe.
She has also collaborated with M.I on the smash hit “One Naira “In 2012,she was one of the few Nigerian acts to perform at the 2012 Olympics in London. The vocal powerhouse finally dropped her debut album, the 14 track eponymously titled “ W.A.J.E –Words Aren’t Just Enough” in 2013.
The album has smashing hits like ‘I Wish’ and ‘Oko Mi’ and features a slew of Nigeria’s biggest stars including M.I, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, and Phyno among others.She was nominated alongside Femi Kuti for album of the year at the yet to be held World Music awards 2014 and is also a nominee for African musician of the year at the Black Canadian Awards 2014, alongside South African star Lira and Kardinall Ofishall. Her album remains one of the best-selling Nigerian albums on the iTunes portal to date. Best Reggae/Dancehall song 2013 (Headies), Best Female musician 2013 City People Entertainment Awards. She has over 15 other awards and nominations including a Channel O nomination. Most recently, Waje performed before 30 living Nigerian heads of state for the Nigerian centenary celebrations.
As a young singer, she once sang gospel tunes to the delight of the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa of the World of Faith Church, who was impressed by her gift and decided to cater for her all through her secondary school days. She graduated from the University of Nigeria in Nsukka with a degree in Social Media
