The award-winning Hip-Hop artist and record producer AKA from South Africa is undoubtedly one of Africa’s most talented and avant-garde rappers. Also going by the name “Supa Mega”, AKA is currently riding high with hit singles The World Is Yours and Caiphus Song and collaborative efforts 10 Fingers and Don’t Forget to Pray with countryman and rapper Anatii. AKA makes his debut on Coke Studio Africa this year paired with Nigerian rap king Olamide.


AKA shot into the limelight in 2009, soon after he launched a solo career with hits like Mistakes in My Walk and Do It, which went to the top of the South African 5M Top 40. Since then he has churned out killer singles and albums that topped charts across Africa and Europe. AKA has collaborated with various top African artists including Burna Boy, Diamond, Ice Prince, Khuli Chana, Yanga, Anatii, and KO, among others. Besides music, he is also an executive producer for the TV show Hustle, which sees upcoming rappers battle to join SA’s Hip-Hop royalty and earn a record deal.

The accolades include No. 1 Album for his album “Levels” on South Africa iTunes, Best Collaboration for Run Jozi featuring KO, Most Valuable Artist; Video of The Year for Congratulate at the SAHHA, 2 Gold Singles for Congratulate, Metro FM Best Single and Best Collaboration for “Baddest” and Certified Platinum Album for “Levels”.  AKA is also a BET Nominee for Best International Act - Africa. He continues to build a strong brand that has seen him get mega endorsements, host various shows, present sports on TV and also perform at festivals across the world.
