Joey B, also known as Beezy, is a Ghanaian Hip-Hop artiste famed for his mellow music and unique sense of fashion. The young star has dominated local airwaves with hit songs Strawberry Ginger and Tonga featuring award-winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, as well as U x Me, FOH featuring Medikal, and Sunshine.

It was the success of Tonga that propelled Joey B into the limelight soon after his career kicked off in 2012, when he recorded his first mixtape at Skillions Records. This was followed by collaborations with other producers and artistes such as EL, Fuse ODG and Edem. Besides music, Joey B’s sense of fashion and appeal to the youth cannot be ignored. In 2015, he was named brand ambassador for Adidas, and is also famous for trendsetting skinny jeans, tattered clothing and cowboy hats in his scene.

In 2014, Joey B won New Artiste of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for his song Tonga, which received massive airplay Africa-wide. He has performed at various events including Miss Malaika Ghana 2016 and at the launch of Sarkodie’s album “Sarkology”. He has worked with various producers and record labels such as Hammer of The Last Two and Black Avenue Music and says he derives his influence from the likes of American rappers Kanye West and Kid Cudi.

Darryl Paa Kwesi Bannerma Martins was born in the Cape Coast of Ghana, and started his musical career at the age of six as a songwriter for a group he had founded. Joey B was a ghostwriter for most of the songs the group made together. His unrelenting desire for music and drive helped nurture his music career. After High School, Joey B collaborated with Lil Shaker until he met Jayso, the founder of Skillions Records.
