Together with Aika, Nahreel is part of the Navy Kenzo music group - the makers of hit records like Kamatia Chini and Game featuring Vanessa Mdee. Brought together by their passion for music in 2013, Navy Kenzo have been able to accomplish major musical milestones in a short period of time. The group has a unique pop sound and avant-garde style credited to Aika’s singing and rap abilities, and Nahreel’s singing paired with legendary production skills. As a unit, Navy Kenzo made their debut on Coke Studio Africa last year, paired with Mozambican rapper Dama Do Bling.

Influenced by legendary producers Dr. Dre and Swizz Beats, Nahreel’s musical interest can be traced back to the age of 14, when his father bought him a piano to support his musical interest. He officially started his career in music as an assistant producer at Kama Kawa Records in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. After two years of working with Kama Kawa, he left for further his studies at Punjab College, India. In 2009, he worked on the instrumentals for Riz One’s Izzo Bizness, which became one of the best-selling Tanzanian releases at the time. After completing his education, Nahreel came back home and began producing songs. He later joined his friends and they formed the music group Pah One that later disintegrated.

Nahreel is also the founder of The Industry Studios in Tanzania. As a producer, his expertise has laced hits such as Hawajui and Nobody But Me by Vanessa Mdee, Gere by Weusi, Zigo by AY, Nusu Nusu by Joh Makini and Mwana Fa’s Mfalme to name a few.
