King Saha is a sure-fire star from Uganda, known for his distinct, raspy voice and catchy lyrics that have earned him a legion of loyal fans since he came on to the music scene. He’s got a diverse discography that includes the hit singles “Very Well” and “Biri”, thanks to a music style that encompasses Afro Beat, Zouk, Reggae and even R&B. On Coke Studio Africa 2019, he will be making a debut on the show alongside fellow Ugandan Weasel and Ethiopian artist Yared Negu, under music producer Daddy Andre.
In 2014, King Saha began his journey as a backup artist for legendary Ugandan singer Jose Chameleone before going solo. He first got signed on to Chameleone’s Leone Island Music Group before moving on to start his own stable - Kings Empire. He has since released a number of top tunes, among them “Muliwana”, “Gundeeze”, “Mwana Gwe”, “Bantu Baffe” and “On My Way” that continue to make waves beyond Uganda. With his growing musical success, he has received various nominations including Best R&B artist at the Uganda Entertainment Awards (2016), and Song of the Year at the HiPipo Awards (2016).
As a prominent voice in the current generation, King Saha appeals to a wide urban audience across Uganda and East Africa. In 2018, he was appointed brand ambassador of telecom giant Airtel – Uganda.
King Saha was born Mansoor Ssemanda on 2 September 1989 in Uganda. He attended St Agnes Primary School and during this time sang with the Mugonga Church Choir. At a young age, he won a music competition, and that is how his music career kicked off. Today, the 29-year-old is spreading his wings in the Ugandan R&B scene with his signature vocals and hits.
