Michael James Kaigai better known as Majic Mike is one of Kenya’s afro pop leading producers and musician. The award-winning artist came into the music spotlight with the release of his mega collabo “Ayaya” featuring Kris Erroh which bagged a Groove Award for afro pop song of the year in 2016. With hits such as “Umenitosha”, “Boom Aye” featuring Kambua and “I am Free”, he has already achieved more in his young career than most musicians dream. The multi-talented producer will be making his debut on the upcoming season of Coke Studio Africa - 2019 and will be producing several music collaborations including, Moji Shortbaba (Kenya) and Bisrat (Ethiopia); Rudeboy (Nigeria) and Khaligraph Jones (Kenya).

Having started out at Red Republic studios as a sound engineer, Majic has continuously grown his brand to become one of East Africa’s top producers. In 2017, he opened his own recording studio “It’s Majic” which has been home to a lot of artistes. Known for his midas touch, he has produced several hit singles for top artistes among them Juliani, Ray C, Mag 44, Nameless, Kambua, Abel Chungu, Moji ShortBabaa, Hope Kid, Jimmy Gait, Pitson, Kris Erroh and Kaz. He has also engineered for artists such as Muthoni Drummer Queen, Kagwe Mungai and The Kansoul. His work as a music producer saw him scoop the Best Audio Producer award at the Groove Awards (2017).

Some of Majic’s works that have won awards are “Mimina” by Kris Erroh featuring Mag 44 and Abel Chungu from Zambia which won hip hop song of the year at Groove Awards (2015). He also produced the hit song “Sigogo” by L Jay Maasai who went on to win the Groove award for Male Artist of the Year (2015) and “Aina Noma” for Kelele Takatifu which won most downloaded skiza tune at the Groove Awards (2017).

As a producer, recording artist and performing artist, Majic Mike is your rare all round creative. Born and raised in Nairobi, Majic attended Ruaraka Primary School. He started singing professionally in 2011 when he was studying sound engineering.
